HAPPY NEW YEAR

My Theatrical Thought for Thursday

Each of us is drawn to particular qualities in other people everyday. But why? It might be the way she moves her hands when she is talking on the phone, how your grandma eats her lunch or how the guy on the train wears his pants a little to high and says hello to you every morning but never attempts any more conversation than that. Artistically the impact of these people make impressions on us that we aren't even aware of at the time. If however we can learn to  appreciate the details of the things we are drawn to and notice and can single out these qualities in a person, we can use them or purposely NOT use them in developing a role and bringing these characteristics to whatever we are playing, however close to or far removed from ourselves.
I am so drawn to this picture, not just because of its soft colouring, nor that it features my 'idol', or that ridiculously cute puppy (who bares an uncanny resemblance to Andrew, the puppy in Mary Poppins) What draws me to this picture is the delicacy of it. Notice how light everything about Audreys posture and presence and movement is?
